Key Responsibilities

The Manager, Accounts Payable oversees all AP activities for regional business segments. The ideal candidate will be tasked with collaborating globally to identify process improvement opportunities and developing a clear forward-thinking strategy. 

The key responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensures that the accounts payable and the company's financial obligations are met timely which is approximately over $700 million consolidated on annual basis.
  • Day-to-day management of Accounts Payable Team with focus on providing exceptional service to both internal customers and vendors including:
  • Dealing with payment escalations from stakeholders
  • Oversee all tax related processes such as 1099 tax information. 
  • Ensuring all supplier accounts are fully reconciled on a regular basis.
  • Resolve issues relating to Accounts Payable activities, communicate reoccurring findings surrounding these issues to management and suggest global process solutions as warranted.
  • Prepare quarterly & monthly reports to ensure adherence to company guidelines (duplicate payment, Vendor Change Report, block report & Vendor Payment Report, etc.).
  • Serve as regional lead contact for AP for internal and external audits
  • Mentor & develop team members to create and maintain an engaged, productive, and experienced organization. 
  • Identify and perform required training to improve productivity and efficiency of department.
  • Leading training related to the company's automated AP system and AP best practices
  • Lead month-end close for the procure to pay value stream: coordinate activities for AP, review of AP accruals, AP trade related account reconciliations and variance analysis.
  • Identify and track Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and operational metrics to ensure team objectives are met; ensure transparency and sharing with stakeholders. 
  • Evaluate current and new process solutions to provide recommended improvements and standardization.
  • Provide budget and forecast balances for accounts payable balance sheet accounts; provide forecast of AP related cash needs to Treasury and Business Segment leaders; collaborate with the Segment GL/Finance teams to meet corporate cash targets; drive working capital improvements in the process to pay value stream. 
  • Ownership and oversight ensuring compliance of the Travel & Entertainment policy including Global corporate credit card administration
  • Provide AP key performance measures to senior management including CFO and other Kraton Senior Leaders
  • Partner with Treasury to ensure optimal cash management as it relates to order to cash
  • Partner with internal stakeholders particularly procurement to ensure new or existing vendor attributes are set up effectively and efficiently
  • Partner with procurement and logistics to ensure effective and efficient training throughout the organization 
  • Working knowledge of typical AP processes, internal controls, company policies & procedures, and SOX.
Required Skills
  • Minimum of 8 years of Accounts Payable experience 
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience 
  • SAP or like ERP system experience required.

  • Ability to work effectively with others.
Education, Certifications & Licenses
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
