Description
The Sr. Director for Ambulatory Surgery is responsible for the oversight and management of all patient care and administrative activities across multiple Kelsey-Seybold Clinic Ambulatory Surgical Centers (ASC) & Anesthesia Department. Responsibilities include attracting & retaining medical staff to maximize case volume within the surgical center setting, balancing capacity for all services with demand, create and maintain operational efficiencies across all locations and services, efficiently start up new locations and services, playing a key role in strategic planning optimize actual performance to budgets/forecast, develop current and potential leaders, maintain excellent communication and responsiveness to medical staff and physician leadership, integrate KPI metrics into operational and strategic decisions with staff and physician leadership. The Sr. Director maintains a close working relationship with the ASC Board Chair, SVP Service Lines, and Associate Medical Director in the development & operation of the ASC, along with management support for the Board & Medical Staff meetings, Quality, and other committees.
Salary Range: $186,170 - $229,981 (Pay is based on several factors, including, but not limited to, education, work experience, certifications, etc.)
Education:
Minimum: Bachelor?s degree in management, healthcare management, finance or accounting
Preferred: Master?s degree in management, healthcare management, finance, or accounting
Experience: A minimum of 7 years of progressive leadership in a perioperative or procedural-oriented setting, including strategic planning, supply chain control, development of Capital and operating budgets to include pro forma evaluation and personnel management. Proven experience with improving processes/workflow, budgeting, and purchasing. Solid experience with establishing and utilizing KPIs.
Preferred: Ambulatory Surgical Center or hospital outpatient surgical center with experience in a broad array of surgical specialty services, anesthesia, and endoscopy experience. Start-up of a new Ambulatory Surgical Center or other licensed facility
Licenses
Minimum: Valid driver?s license
Preferred: Peri-operative certification Texas RN license
Special Skills:
Knowledge of regulatory standards for Anesthesia, ambulatory surgical, or hospital outpatient settings, including clinical and business office workflow. Participation in AAAHC, JCAHO, TDH, and CLIA surveys. Knowledge of the principles of quality management and experience leading Performance Improvement teams. Must also have prior experience in or use of project management skills and/or Lean Processing.
Experience with Anesthesia & ASC: Business Office activity; AR, Coding, Insurance verification, collections. Experience with design/construction processes, associated capital and operating management of a new ASC, Hospital Perioperative Department, or renovation.
Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills to moderate-sized audiences. Strong data and analytical skills; ability to analyze case costs, evaluate contract performance, etc. Ability to work with a wide range of professionals across multiple locations to improve service and enhance revenue.
