Title: Utilities Supervisor
Location: Shawnee, KS
Job Type: Direct Hire, Full-Time
Salary Range: $115K-$130K (Based on Experience)

SUMMARY
Kelly Engineering is in search of a talented and energetic Utilities Supervisor to join our client's team for an exhilarating opportunity! The client is a global entity eager to expand their team located in Shawnee, KS

RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Serve as the primary contact for the team in terms of utility equipment support, preventive maintenance (PMs), calibrations, and work orders, prioritizing tasks based on safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Production Supervision/Leads and Planning to schedule Utilities PMs, calibrations, and work orders. Ensure the timely execution of PMs, calibrations, and work orders, working alongside Production Maintenance and PCT to support technicians.
  • Organize the Utilities team's coverage schedule, including regular shifts, weekends, and overtime production.
  • Partner with Engineering to coordinate Utilities support for equipment and process-related projects.
  • Participate directly in the recruitment and training process of Utility technicians
  • Assist manufacturing by resolving utilities/facilities equipment issues and delivering solutions for process malfunctions. Offer support for engineering projects.
  • Ensure repairs and the return to operation are documented in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
  • Take charge of ongoing training and development to enhance high-performance skills such as technical, communication, and customer (production) support skills, as well as maintaining organization and cleanliness.
  • Adhere to the production and shutdown schedules set by Production Planning and CMMS to ensure the manufacturing of quality products in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Monitor and address any deviations related to Utility Systems.
  • Focus on maintaining utility/facility machinery with the aim of improving performance and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all workplace standards and safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and company guidelines.
 
REQUIREMENTS
  • A minimum of (5) years industrial experience maintaining utilities/facilities machinery, pharmaceutical experience
  • Experience supporting clean and plant utilities:
    • WFI/Purified Water
    • Clean / Plant Steam
    • Nitrogen
    • Cooling Water
    • Chilled Water
    • Glycol
  • Proficiency in maintaining pumps, tanks, and piping systems.   
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. 
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team. Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English are required.
  • Good personal computer skills, including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel required.  Experience using SAP and a CMMS for preventive maintenance activities preferred.
  • Must be capable of performing the following actions:
    • Calculating math problems, technical reading and writing at a college level.
    • Using analytical skills for troubleshooting various utility systems and their controls.
    • Read/interpret/follow instructions regarding workplace documentation such as SOPs, equipment manuals, and work instructions.
    • Using both U.S. and E.U. formats of machine specifications, P&ID schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
