Tool Room Supervisor - 1st Shift
Location: Attleboro, MA area
Shift: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Monday-Friday)
Salary: $40-$42/hr.
Job Description:
Kelly is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tool Room Supervisor to manage and coordinate the activities of employees engaged in the production and repair of metalworking dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and cutting tools. This position requires expert knowledge of machining and tool and die construction, as well as a strong ability to lead a team in a manufacturing environment. The Tool Room Supervisor will oversee tool room operations, ensure safety compliance, and ensure that production schedules are met efficiently.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
Lead, guide, and supervise the tool & die department, ensuring all activities are completed according to company policies and safety standards.

Plan and organize daily tool and die shop activities, delegating work based on production needs.

Establish and adjust labor hour requirements for job completion.

Operate tool room equipment in a safe and efficient manner, meeting OSHA standards.

Read blueprints and job orders to understand product specifications, tooling instructions, and required adjustments.

Install, adjust, and maintain tools, holding devices, and equipment to ensure high-quality finished work.

Monitor the performance of the team, offering guidance and making recommendations for improvements.

Lead weekly safety meetings and alternating employee safety inspections, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Conduct quality control checks using precision measurement tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).

Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on progressive tooling and manufacturing equipment.

Foster a positive team atmosphere that encourages high work performance and collaboration.

Ensure the department adheres to established quality standards and best practices.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth tool room operations.

Work independently, with some oversight from immediate supervisor.

Exercise discretion and offer advice to other departments on tooling matters.

Manage the performance and development of tool room staff, including recommendations for hiring or firing.

Oversee and manage the work and results of others in the department.

Influence decisions within the organization, fostering a positive and results-driven environment.

Provide coaching, mentoring, and employee development opportunities.

High school diploma or GED required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

5-10 years of experience in making blanking tools, trim tools, and piercing tools.

Familiarity with manufacturing and production processes, including continuous improvement initiatives.

Outstanding leadership, conflict-resolution, and decision-making skills.
-
Proficient in precision measurement using inspection equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and other tools.

Experience with EDM (Wire and Agie Mondo 1 and 2) is a plus.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt quickly to changing demands in a fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

Proactive, results-oriented, creative thinker with outstanding problem-solving abilities.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
- Ability to work overtime as needed, including weekends.
