Overview:
We are looking for a caring and dedicated Substitute School Nurse to join our team. Your role will be to provide essential healthcare services to students of all ages.
Job Title: Substitute School Nurse (also known as Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN))
Qualifications:
- Meet state requirements for education, certifications, and licensure.
- Ability to care for students of various ages.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow directions and build positive relationships with staff and students.
- Maintain confidentiality of medical records.
- Respect cultural diversity and community values.
- Display a positive attitude in school/community relations.
- Other qualifications as determined by the Board of Education and Kelly Education.
- Report to the Lead School Nurse or appropriate School District authority.
- Follow day-to-day instructions from the School District.
- Provide healthcare services, including medical exams, first-aid, and immunizations.
- Work with school personnel to address students' social, emotional, and physical needs.
- Counsel students on healthy habits.
- Maintain a safe environment and adhere to OSHA Standards.
- Dispense medication to students as per school guidelines.
- Collaborate with staff and parents regarding students' medical exclusions.
- Report incidents that result in injury, illness, or potential harm to a Kelly representative within 24 hours.
- Notify Kelly Education of any job duty changes.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (B.S.N.) from an accredited college.
- One to two years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must meet local, state, and federal licensing requirements.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional materials.
- Capable of writing reports and business correspondence.
- May need to sit for extended periods.
- Must be able to move swiftly, navigate stairs, and cover long distances.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, and communicate clearly.
- Must occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.
- Requires close and color vision.
- Weekly pay - $20/hour for a Substitute School Nurse.
