Overview

This Senior Software Engineer will be an integral member of the software team, leading the design, development, and verification of embedded software systems for innovative avionics solutions. This is a full-time, onsite position offering long-term growth opportunities within a highly specialized engineering environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and validate embedded software for next-generation electronic components using Agile development methodology.
- Contribute expertise in system-level integration and software/hardware interfacing.
- Evaluate and support microcontrollers, SoC processors, board support packages (BSP), and low-level drivers.
- Develop software using real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, and others.
- Serve as a technical liaison across internal departments and with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
- Coach and mentor junior engineers, supporting a collaborative and growth-focused team culture.
- Assist in cybersecurity-related software initiatives and contribute to continuous process improvement.
- Support resource planning and budgeting activities related to software development projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Software, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on embedded systems.
- Proficiency in C, C++, and C#; Python experience is a plus.
- Strong experience with board bring-up, SoC processors, and embedded system integration.
- Proficient in developing low-level software including BSPs, device drivers, and serial interfaces such as SPI.
- Familiarity with RTOS platforms such as uC/OS, FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or Integrity.
- Experience working with avionics communication protocols like ARINC 429, CAN FD, Ethernet, and Mil-Std 1553 is preferred.
- Knowledge of software standards such as DO-178, DO-254, and ARP4754 is highly desirable.
- Comfortable using engineering tools such as JIRA, Subversion, Confluence, and standard Microsoft Office applications.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
- US Citizenship is required.
