Senior Safety, Health & Environment Manager

Salary: $130,000k per year

Direct Reports: 1

Reports To: Site Manager

Contract Type: Permanent

Work Location: On-Site

Overview:

The Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Manager manages and coordinates all safety, health, and environmental programs, processes, and activities to maintain a compliant and safe work environment. This role drives excellence in SHE across the site to achieve the best safety and sustainability results. The SHE Manager will develop the local strategy to ensure legal compliance and execute internal standards. Additionally, this role will implement programs to reduce safety incidents and environmental impact while providing guidance and support on SHE matters.

Main Responsibilities & Scope:

  • Design, maintain, and implement local safety and environmental management systems.
  • Lead SHE incident management and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Conduct SHE meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance and drive performance improvements.
  • Provide employees, contractors, and visitors with guidance on health and safety regulations.
  • Develop an Emergency Action Plan and act as the primary contact for site SHE incidents.
  • Integrate occupational health and safety imperatives with business decision-making and risk management.
  • Advise on engineering and maintenance practices to improve safe working systems.
  • Drive a positive SHE culture through training, safety talks, and leadership engagement.
  • Ensure compliance is regularly audited and performance assessments drive improvements.
  • Monitor and measure SHE variables using a SHE scorecard
Education, Skills & Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Science or Engineering or equivalent industrial experience.
  • Relevant qualifications required by local regulatory authorities.
  • Project management skills.
  • Internal auditor or ISO auditor qualification (preferred).
  • Experience with Lean/TPM tools (preferred).
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or OSHSAS 18001 standards.
