This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS. The contractor shall:

1. Recommends and assists FTL in implementing policies and procedures related to the organization's scientific programs.
2. Collects, analyzes, and creates scientific program information.
3. Coordinates workshops and reports their outcomes.
4. Evaluates current scientific IT programs and makes recommendations to FTL if changes need to be made.
5. Assists with analyzing current scientific IT programs and developing and proposing new initiatives.
6. Collaborates with management and prepares reports to keep them updated on new and ongoing programs and activities.
7. Assists the FTL in coordinating with US and international institutions to support development of data intensive science capabilities in low to middle income countries.
8. Analyzes current policies and procedures, suggests and makes recommendations to FTL for improvements.
9. Assists in preparing and making recommendations to FTL for development of future strategic plans.

REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:

1. Ph.D. in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline or equivalent is required.
2. 15+ years of technical and specialized experience in genomics and bioinformatics technologies and platforms.
3. Experience in applying technology to advance research in infectious and immune mediated diseases.
4. Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
