Quality Inspector - Medical Device Manufacturer - Norwood, MA Job Title: Quality Control Inspector

Hours: 07:30 AM to 04:30 PM
Pay Rate: $21 to $24 per hour 
Job type: Temp to Perm 

Job Purpose:
The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting electronic systems, assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and parts to ensure they meet specifications and customer requirements. The role involves inspecting materials at various stages of production and documenting results to ensure product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Incoming Materials Inspection: Inspect materials received from vendors, approve acceptable materials, and reject or return those that do not meet quality standards.
  • First Article Inspection: Perform initial inspections of first article items, communicate necessary adjustments to production supervisors, and provide final approval before mass production.
  • Finished Product Inspection: Verify finished products by confirming they meet specifications through visual and measurement tests. Return defective products for rework and re-inspect as necessary.
  • Documentation: Accurately document inspection results by completing written reports and logs, as well as entering data into computer systems and software databases.
  • Technical Interpretation: Read and understand blueprints, diagrams, customer specifications, and inspection instructions to ensure proper inspection processes.
  • Issue Escalation: Immediately escalate any quality issues to the Quality Manager and/or Production Manager.
  • Work Area Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring efficiency in daily operations.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform other manufacturing-related tasks as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Experience in manufacturing processes and environments.
  • Knowledge of quality control and inspection methods.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and test equipment.
  • Strong documentation and data entry skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong judgment and safety management skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, counting, and measuring.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing methods and procedures, particularly in cable assemblies and wire harnesses, is a plus.

Work Hours & Benefits:

  • Full-time position with a casual work environment.
  • Regular hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
