Job Overview
The major purpose of this position is to lead the necessary on-going activities required to support existing products and manufacturing operations. These activities include but are not limited to:
- Leads compliance activities for quality system elements:
- Design Control
- Document Control
- Receiving Acceptance
- Nonconforming Product
- CAPA
- Labeling
- Records
- Analyzing post market metrics to identify continuous improvements projects, implementing proactive quality activities into the manufacturing plants.
- Providing support for Risk Management executions throughout the organization to drive consistent Risk Assessments.
- Providing support for trending, analyzing, and executing the Complaint Handling process to identify opportunities to drive process, product, label, and/or component improvements.
- Providing compliance expertise and product knowledge to the cross-functional teams for understanding and investigating product complaints for resolution.
- Partnering with vendors to facilitate supplier quality and maintaining a risk-based approach to management of suppliers.
- Leads sustaining quality engineering activities.
- Recommend and implement improvement actions.
- Supports and implements quality concepts that drive future growth.
- Manage self in accordance with the expected approved corporate behaviors.
- Understand meeting etiquette by continually updating his/her business calendar for efficient time management.
- Understand the Global Quality Objectives and Team Strategies.
- Supports Team in solving events related to Product Quality Opportunities, Quality System Misalignments, and Technology Advancements.
- Supports the implementation of new quality concepts, tools, and strategies to improve business practices.
- Communicate with Business Partners to ensure alignment with Quality Approaches.
- Understand the complaint trends and complaint reduction strategies.
- Key Relationships/Customer Expectations: All levels of management within Operations Quality, Quality Systems, Manufacturing/ Operations, Research & Development, Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain and Materials Management.
Required Skills:
- A B.S. in Engineering, Science, or related fields.
- A minimum of 5 years of collective experience in quality, R&D or related field in a medical device environment.
- A minimum of 3 years developing and improving, efficient and effective processes.
- Must be detail oriented, have excellent customer service, leadership and communication skills with co-workers and customers.
- A sound foundational understanding of the quality system regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs (prefer Advanced Excel User – Pivot Tables).
