Kelly Science has a temporary need for a Quality Control Technician opening in Cartersville GA.
Shift: Monday-Friday 2pm-10pm
Duration: 6 months or more
Hourly Pay Rate: $21.25
Summary
The Quality Control Lab Technician is responsible for conducting chemical, physical, and/or microbiological analyses of beverage components and blends. The role involves preparing documentation and coordinating or performing testing and analysis to ensure that quality standards are met.
Essential Functions

- Verify that quality equipment is functioning properly by performing and documenting maintenance, calibration, and verification to ensure accurate product testing results.
- Perform daily raw material receipt by reviewing Certificates of Analysis (COAs), sampling materials, and logging receipt and inspection results to ensure all materials meet specifications.
- Conduct shelf-life extensions as needed.
- Verify the effectiveness of cleaning & sanitation procedures by performing pre/post-operational inspections of production lines to ensure beverage contact equipment is sanitary.
- Conduct environmental testing by collecting water samples and performing hygienic swabbing throughout the facility to assess the effectiveness of sanitation procedures.
- Complete batch reports, calculate variations in batch sizes, attributes, standards, and other required data documented per formula.
- Measure and follow proper mixing procedures, with close attention to accuracy.
- Maintain the quality laboratory in an organized state with necessary supplies by cleaning the lab, equipment, and performing supply inventories to meet housekeeping standards.
- Perform and document facility audits to ensure all required testing is being performed and process operating guidelines are followed.
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative testing of beverages, syrups, and raw materials throughout the production process, analyzing attributes.
- Perform filling line quality inspections, quality audits, and isolate products that do not meet standards.
- Assist in the development of measures to avoid mistakes in collaboration with the quality lab supervisor.
- Assist in adjusting materials or production batches that deviate from target specifications, under the supervision of the supervisor.
- Support investigations of customer complaint issues.
- Verify information on Production & QA Batch Tickets as needed.
- Send production samples to customers as requested.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in a science-related field
- 2+ years of experience in a laboratory environment
