Kelly Science and Clinical is currently seeking candidates for a Quality Control Lab Analyst position for a specialty chemical company in Shreveport, LA. The Quality Control Lab Analyst performs final product lab testing and helps to conduct experiments, analyze results, and maintain the work area. In addition, the Lab Analyst supports laboratory staff by maintaining lab supplies, logs, resolves problems, and helps with special projects.

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform lab testing on chemical raw materials and finished products to include color, insolubility, viscosity, oil separation, pH, etc.
  • Prepare and standardize chemical reagents and solutions
  • Assist with the qualification, calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment and related systems
  • Perform advanced mathematical calculations, conversions and formulations
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshoot breakdowns, and perform maintenance or schedule repairs
  • Detailed administrative record keeping and filing of all QA activities including maintaining daily logs, generation of Certificates of Analyses, and data entry into the lab based data management system
  • Work independently under general supervision and direction
  • Practice safe work habits and adhere to safety procedures and guidelines
  • Keep laboratory supplies inventory and maintain stock
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline is preferred
  • 1+ years of relevant laboratory experience is preferred
  • IATA hazardous shipping certification
  • Computer proficient, especially with Microsoft Office products
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
The work schedule for the position requires that candidates be willing to work a Monday through Friday, 12 hour shift, that rotates between days and nights every month. Working on occasional Saturdays is also required. This is a 6 month contract assignment that may be extended based on the business needs of the company.
