Quality Inspector (3rd Shifts)
Location: Melbourne, FL
Salary: Up to $18/hr (Depending on experience)
Position Type: Full-time
Shifts Available: Sunday - Thursday (3rd shift 10:30 pm – 7:30 am)
Position Overview:
We're looking for a highly motivated Quality Inspector to join our team! This role is responsible for performing visual, mechanical, and functional inspections of plastic, sheet metal parts, sub-assemblies, and other electronic/electro-mechanical components to ensure conformance to customer specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in quality inspection, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform visual, mechanical, and functional inspections of materials and components for compliance with customer specifications.
  • Enter inspection data into log books and internal database systems in real-time.
  • Provide feedback to engineers and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  • Conduct visual inspection of printed circuit board assemblies at various stages of the assembly process following IPC-A-610 standards.
  • Coordinate rework and ensure completed products meet specifications.
  • Perform first article inspections and process audits as required.
  • Conduct customer quality assurance (CQA), in-process, final, and incoming inspections.
  • Verify the use of proper routers and ensure adherence to P.O. and drawing requirements.
  • Ensure proper staging of products and coordination of processing steps.
  • Maintain ESD integrity within the production environment.
  • Keep work area clean and organized, ensuring the accuracy of work-in-progress.
  • Assist in training new employees and perform other duties as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Associate's Degree in a relevant field (electronic focus preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2+ years in inspection in a high-volume, contract-manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications: IPC-A-600/610/620 Certification, ESD Training.
  • Skills:
    • Proficient in using electro-mechanical tools (multimeters, calipers, etc.) and basic hand tools.
    • Familiarity with operating 3D Automated Optical Inspection (3DAOI) machines.
    • Strong understanding of blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
    • Basic computer skills and experience with ERP systems.
    • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy and detail.
    • Ability to interpret detailed drawings and follow complex procedures.
    • Experience in high-volume environments with a focus on quality.
    • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ITAR controlled data is a plus.
    • Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.

Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment.
  • Must be a U.S. person as defined in 22 CRF Part 120.15 (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees).
