Kelly Services has partnered up with our client in Baltimore, Md who is looking for a skilled, reliable Quality Control Technician to work in their Distribution Center.

Training Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Post Training Schedule: 4am-4pm and 4pm-4am 2-2-3 (rotating schedule, two days on two days off, three days on )

Pay rate: $18-$23 an hour with weekly pay on Friday

Job Overview: The Quality Control Technician will be responsible for all aspects of the quality programs and functions within the company. This includes maintaining HACCP and food safety records, conducting plant audits, managing mock recall programs, and training employees on quality procedures. The technician will also perform testing to validate the microbiological quality of ingredients, suppliers, and packages. This role will collaborate with the R&D team on new product launches and provide test data to ensure the production of high-quality products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain knowledge of cleaning agents and applications, following proper procedures for cleaning and sanitization.
  • Fill out batch reports accurately, calculating variations in batch sizes, attributes, and other required data.
  • Measure and follow proper mixing procedures, evaluating and troubleshooting batches as needed.
  • Perform testing, evaluations, and documentation of results according to procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and take corrective action on the production line.
  • Prepare batch tanks for batching, rinsing, sanitation, odor control, and tasting.
  • Conduct internal pest control program, including station checking, cleaning, and proper documentation.
  • Assist supervisors in resolving quality control issues and tracking quality trends.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state legislation by establishing and enforcing quality standards and testing materials and products.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize process quality information and trends.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Word.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adherence to OSHA required training.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 2-3 years of hands-on work experience in the carbonated soft drink industry preferred.
  • Strong understanding of quality control testing procedures and sanitation practices.
  • Excellent computer skills and familiarity with reporting software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation to various locations within the service area.
