We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to join a metals manufacturing team in Lake Mary, Florida.
Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician
Salary Range: Up to $18.00 per hour or more (based on experience) (Salary is discussed in the interview)

Schedule: 2nd shift Monday – Friday 2:30pm – 11:00pm Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for executing Quality Assurance functions within the division, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards and customer specifications. This role promotes positive relations with production staff to enhance the quality culture and awareness across the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Read production paperwork and blueprints to determine specified manufacturing requirements.
- Assess supplied materials to ensure they meet production requirements and specifications.
- Remove cut pieces from production sheets and inspect for defects related to laser cutting, including edge quality and surface nonconformities.
- Fill out production paperwork and timekeeping records, including In-Process and Final Audit Reports.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area in compliance with 6S housekeeping standards.
- Wear required safety equipment and follow all safety policies and procedures.
- Accurately fill out production tags for identification and traceability of parts produced.
- Monitor calibration of equipment used within the department.
- Conduct floor inspections, shipping & receiving, and source and final inspections while maintaining records and logs.
- Participate in internal audits of the Quality Management System (QMS) under the direction of a lead auditor.
- Assist in determining root causes of defects and participate in the Corrective/Preventive Action process using the 8D methodology.
- Provide on-the-job training to new staff as needed, ensuring adherence to quality procedures and standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the quality department.
- Education: 2-year degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience: 1-5 years in a Quality Engineering/Technician discipline; 1-2 years of supervisory experience is a plus.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in CAD, Microsoft Office, and SPC-based software.
- Special Requirements:
- Proficient in GD&T, blueprint reading, and knowledgeable about SPC, PPAP submissions including FMEA, GAGE R&R, and Control Plan creation.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing processes including stamping, laser, CNC punch, press brake, and welding.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and present findings to management.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly required to sit, use hands, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The work environment may expose the employee to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme weather conditions.
- The noise level is typically moderate, and temperature and humidity extremes similar to ambient outside conditions may be encountered.
