Description
Kelly Science & Clinical is currently seeking candidates for multiple Direct Hire Quality Control Analyst positions at a Chemical Manufacturing company in Coushatta, LA. The overall responsibility of the position is to support manufacturing operations by performing laboratory analyses on raw materials and finished products to ensure quality specifications are met.
Responsibilities
- Run daily laboratory analyses to provide analytical results and certificates of analyses
- Be proficient at running and maintaining laboratory instrumentation including particle size analyzer, surface area and porosity analyzer, TGA, and sulfur analyzer
- Report out of specification values promptly to Quality and Operations teams
- Coordinate receiving and Quality testing of incoming samples
- Monitor all QC functions for data integrity and report anomalies to the appropriate parties
- Coordinate proper maintenance and calibration of analytical equipment, including scheduling of preventative maintenance
- Assist with laboratory database maintenance and issuance of lot numbers
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining lab inventories, including finished lot composite retains
- Learn and follow all lab and plant safety regulations
- Maintain good lab housekeeping
- BS in Chemistry or related scientific discipline
- 1-2 years of Industrial lab experience is preferred, but fresh graduates will be considered
- Ability to communicate data and analytical results clearly, concisely, and effectively
- Able to gather and analyze information and identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
- Ability to work 12 hour rotating day and night shifts (6-6) in a fast paced laboratory setting
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Must be flexible and willing to work “nonstandard” hours as required
- Must be a reliable team member, consistently adhering to work schedules and following through on commitments
