Quality Control Inspector

Overview
This client is an industry-leading food and beverage manufacturer focused on providing the highest quality products.
Schedule:
Day: 7am-3:30pm
Responsibilities:
• Pre and post inspection of materials, equipment, metal detectors, screens, processing aids, personnel presentation, and post sanitation of equipment.
• Monitor product specific quality attributes (such as temperature, brix, pH and TA) of work-in-process material to ensure customer and internal quality expectations are met.
• Inspect and approve every lot prior to packaging and ensure that all target analytical values are met.
• Collect samples for both customer specific and finished product that represent every finished batch.
• Assist in maintaining GMP, sanitation, food safety and personal safety programs.
• Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
• Prioritize multiple tasks and stay focused and productive while under pressure.
• Communicate information effectively to other employees of the Company, either on a one-to-one basis or small group settings.
• Maintain complete, accurate and legible test records, in accordance with Company policy and record keeping procedure.
• Build strong working relationships with the production staff.
• Follow all safety and quality guidelines according to Good Laboratory Practices and lab safety requirements.
Qualifications:
• 3 to 9 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Ability to observe, monitor, collect and record data. Ability to assess the accuracy, validity and integrity of the data.
• Basic Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook skills
• Ability to speak, read, write and comprehend English.
• Basic math skills, ability to compute ratios and percent. Ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Basic lab skills, titration, UV-Vis spectroscopy, atomic absorption spectroscopy, microbial plating.
• Ability to operate a lift truck.
• Understanding of HAACP and SQF systems.
