Contract Project Manager – Industrial Facility Upgrade
Location: Onsite in NY Metro Area
Duration: 8-12 Month Contract
Compensation: Competitive Hourly Rate + Full Benefits
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Project Manager with a strong background in industrial project management to oversee a high-profile project in the NY Metro area. This project is a pivotal initiative involving the installation of an advanced power generation system that will allow a major site to generate its own electricity, manage heating/cooling processes, and improve overall efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, installation, and testing of electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring they align with timelines and budgets.
- Supervise subcontractors and vendors, focusing on Balance of Plant components.
- Oversee procurement processes to maintain safety and quality standards.
- Provide regular updates on progress, budgets, and project risks to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for seamless execution.
- Manage and motivate both onsite and office-based teams, ensuring high performance and project delivery on time and to quality standards.
- Engage in regular communication with clients to understand requirements and tackle any contractual deviations.
- Develop and manage a detailed Project Plan, ensuring key milestones and budget adherence.
- Work closely with finance to monitor costs against budgets and revenue milestones.
- Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
- Negotiate with contractors and suppliers for best value in terms of price, quality, and reliability.
- Maintain excellent client relations through consistent communication and satisfaction checks.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 8 years experience in power generation projects.
- At least 2 years of experience managing large-scale engineering projects.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Detailed understanding of electrical systems, including Balance of Plant.
- Proficient in IT tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- Project Management Professional Credential.
- Logical thinker capable of crafting creative, pragmatic solutions.
- Ability to motivate and develop team members.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- Calm under pressure, resilient, and tenacious in the face of challenges.
- Commercially aware, focused on minimizing costs.
