We are seeking an experienced PM with a strong background in capital project management to oversee the construction of a new state-of-the-art chemical production facility in Chicago. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the successful completion of our facility, which will serve as a hub for innovation and research in the energy storage sector.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Manage all aspects of the construction project, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality control.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors to ensure timely and efficient completion of construction activities.
- Develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring that all milestones are met according to schedule.
- Monitor construction progress and identify potential risks or issues, implementing proactive solutions as needed.
- Conduct regular site visits to inspect workmanship, safety, and compliance with building codes and regulations.
- Communicate effectively with project team members to provide updates, resolve conflicts, and facilitate decision-making.
- Manage project budget, tracking expenses and ensuring cost-effectiveness throughout the construction process.
- Oversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services required for construction activities.
- Lead regular meetings with project stakeholders to review progress, address concerns, and make strategic decisions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all construction-related inquiries, providing timely and accurate information as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, preferably in the commercial or industrial sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
- Strong understanding of construction principles, building codes, and regulations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and foster collaboration.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in chemical production is preferred
- Knowledge of energy storage systems or related technologies is a plus.
