About Us: Work for a leader in providing innovative solutions and high-quality engineering services.  We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Project Engineer to join a dynamic team in the automotive conveyor industry. 

This job offers competitive pay with OT compensation and 1 day/week work from home.

Job Overview: The Project Engineer will oversee all engineering and technical aspects of assigned projects, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and quality. You will work closely with the project manager and superintendent, focusing on the conveyor engineering design, layout, and detailing requirements per the customer scope of work. You will lead a team of engineers and designers, providing daily tasks, guidance, and direction to ensure the successful execution of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision: Lead a team of engineers and designers, providing daily tasks and assignments along with training and guidance for junior engineers.
  • Project Updates: Provide weekly project updates to management and track project requirements post-award.
  • Engineering Calculations: Perform engineering calculations of drives, shafts, cylinders, and bearings.
  • Technical Support: Offer input to drawing development, check drawings for accuracy, and solve technical issues promptly.
  • AutoCAD Layouts: Create AutoCAD conveyor layouts meeting customer JPH requirements.
  • Structural Coordination: Coordinate basic structural/header steel design with the customer and structural engineering service provider.
  • Documentation: Provide FMEA and FEA documentation to outside sources as required by the customer.
  • Field Checks: Visit jobsites for meetings and field checks as needed, and provide on-site support.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist project manager with tasks, manage work orders and ABMs, and answer questions from purchasing and the shop.
  • Customer Communication: Maintain updated knowledge of customer specifications and handle pre/post award project submittals.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or 10+ years of automotive conveyor work experience.
  • Experience: Proven track record of working both independently and in a team environment with automotive conveyor systems, preferably Power & Free and Skid conveyor systems.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to supervise and lead a team of engineers.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a positive "can-do" attitude.
  • Project Management: Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, timely manner and identify scope of work changes.
