We at Kelly® are in search of dedicated Production Operators for a top-tier Food Manufacturing company located in Harrisonburg, VA.
Shift Options:

  • 1st Shift: Friday - Monday, 7am - 7pm | $20.00/hour
  • 3rd Shift: Friday - Monday, 7pm - 7am | $22.00/hour

What to Expect as a Production Operator:
Extractor Operator:
  • Operate extractors per the operation manual and monitor trends closely.
  • Drain collection tanks post-extraction and clean heat exchangers weekly.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the residue and screw press areas.
  • Daily cleaning of the pit at the rotor screen and weekly of the outside drain.
  • Operate the mezzanine during feeding; rinse down the conveyor after the last extraction.
  • Perform bi-weekly trend saves on Centum computers.
  • Keep the control room clean and organized; empty trashcans daily.
Evaporator Operator:
  • Operate evaporators according to the operation manual.
  • Pack products while ensuring utensils are clean and sanitized to prevent contamination.
  • Collect product samples and deliver them to the lab.
  • Maintain floors around evaporators and mixing mezzanine.
  • Wrap and strap spacecraft post-packing.
  • Conduct chemical washes on equipment every Monday morning.
  • Daily or as-needed foaming of tanks, lines, and equipment.
  • Hand wash mixing tanks as per customer requirements.
Sharples Operator:
  • Operate the Sharples in line with the operational manual.
  • Pack fat, ensuring tools are clean and sanitized.
  • Collect samples and deliver them to the lab.
  • Maintain floors in the extractor room and around vibrating screens.
  • Clean vibrating screens post-batch.
  • Conduct chemical washes on equipment every Monday morning.
  • Daily or as-needed foaming of tanks, lines, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Adhere to all safety and OSHA guidelines.
  2. Follow all USDA, FDA, DEQ, and Ariake regulations and procedures.
    • HACCP
    • SSOP's
    • GMP's
    • Master Cleaning Schedule
  3. Maintain productivity and adhere to standard operating times.
  4. Keep work areas clean, including discarding rubber bands, emptying trash, and cleaning floors.
  5. Lift at least fifty pounds as needed.
  6. Ensure the highest quality of product.
  7. Complete paperwork promptly.
  8. Conduct basic preventive maintenance on equipment.
  9. Report concerns to your supervisor.
  10. Assist other production operators when possible.
  11. Carry out tasks requested by management. Seek supervisor guidance if unsure.

  • Hold a high school diploma or GED.
  • Have at least 6 months of experience in Warehouse, Manufacturing, Production, Factory, or Machine Operation.
  • Command the English language well, both written and spoken.
  • Possess good verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Can lift 50 pounds repeatedly and climb ladders if needed.
