We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join a metals manufacturing team located in Lake Mary, FL.
Job Title: Press Brake Operator
Pay rate: Up to $20.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Type of Position: Full-time / Temp to perm
Shift: 2nd shift 2:30pm -11:00pm
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring complete customer satisfaction through the quality of their work. The goal is to reduce variability and achieve zero defects in our products and services while improving cycle times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate a computer-controlled press brake machine to produce formed parts for further manufacturing operations or for direct sale.
- Read production paperwork to determine specified requirements for manufacturing.
- Use calipers, micrometers, and height gauges to check parts for accuracy.
- Load the correct program into the control system to produce the right parts and quantities.
- Measure parts to ensure conformity to print specifications.
- Assess material supplied to ensure it meets production requirements.
- Review parts for compliance with workmanship standards.
- Complete production paperwork, including quality and timekeeping records, and in-process and final audit reports.
- Adhere to safety protocols by wearing required safety equipment and following the Safety Policy.
- Fill out production tags accurately to identify produced parts (Identification and Traceability).
- Monitor the calibration of equipment used within the department.
- Receive on-the-job training from the cell supervisor.
- Assist the Cell Leader with continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must have Press Brake Operator experience.
- Troubleshoot basic issues and perform alarm editing as needed.
- Conduct basic setups involving non-complex bends.
- Read blueprints to determine required characteristics for monitoring.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work area in compliance with facility housekeeping policies (6S Standards).
- Demonstrate knowledge of control language and perform specific computer functions necessary to set up, operate, and adjust the press brake.
Safety Requirements:
- Safety shoes and glasses must be worn at all times.
- Hearing protection is required in posted areas and optional in unmarked areas.
- Gloves are to be worn when handling parts.
- Clothing should provide sufficient coverage and protection from scrapes due to accidental contact with part edges.
