We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Powder Metal Set-up Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating powder metal processing equipment, ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Location: Watertown, CT
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay Rate: $20 - $30 per hour (based on experience)
Employment Type: Direct Hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate powder metal processing equipment, including presses, furnaces, and other related machinery.
- Adjust machine settings and controls to optimize production processes and maintain product quality.
- Monitor production runs to ensure adherence to specifications and make necessary adjustments as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment to minimize downtime.
- Conduct quality inspections of finished products using measuring tools and equipment.
- Document production data and maintain accurate records of operations and quality control.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve processes and product quality.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in powder metal processing or a related field.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to operate various types of machinery.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours or overtime as needed.
