As a Powder Coat I, you will play a crucial role in our production process by painting and using powder operations to prepare components for a variety of products. Your attention to detail and adherence to quality standards will contribute to the successful completion of our projects.
Job Specifications:
- Job Type: Fulltime
- Location: Portage, MI
- Shift: 2nd shift – Monday – Friday 12:45 pm – 9:15 pm
- Payrate: $19.50/hr
- Paint components and perform powder operations to prepare them for production
- Follow directions and adhere to quality and quantity standards to meet part specifications
- Read and understand procedures, safety sheets, instructions, and policies in English
- Carry out verbal instructions and communicate effectively in English
- Maintain good housekeeping and ergonomics practices to ensure safety
- Participate in workplace organization and follow training procedures, including cross training and teamwork
- Demonstrate stamina and attention to detail in repetitive tasks
- Speak up and report any safety or quality issues that may arise
- Learn new processes, systems, and equipment as required
- Collaborate with cross functional teams and contribute to conflict resolution
- Motivate yourself to grow, learn, and progress to the next level in skills through willingness and ability to cross train
- High school diploma or GED, preferred
- Ability to meet work schedule and overtime requirements, including weekends
- Proficiency in reading and understanding written instructions and policies in English
- Strong verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to prioritize safety and follow safety related practices, including good housekeeping and ergonomics
- Ability to learn new processes, systems, and equipment
- Basic knowledge of documentation, team concepts, and basic preventative maintenance
- Ability to work well in a diverse team environment and contribute to conflict resolution
