• Design for Manufacturing (DFM):

Strong understanding of DFM principles, particularly in the following manufacturing processes: (Experience in one or more of the following)

• Zinc and aluminum die casting
• Metal stamping
• Aluminum extrusion
• Injection molded plastic
• Extruded plastic
• Assembly

CAD Experience: Expertise in part design, advanced assemblies, configuration management, and CAD simulation tools for design validation.
General Purpose of the Job:
The Mechanical Engineer will leverage expertise in problem-solving, sustaining and design for manufacturing to improve product manufacturability, cost, and quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design Improvement: Analyze and enhance product designs that impact manufacturability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Project Ownership: Lead projects through the engineering change control process, ensuring proper documentation and cross-functional communication with purchasing, quality, and manufacturing teams.
• Product Knowledge: Develop a strong understanding of the Kason product line to provide support to internal and external customers.
• CAD Modeling: Create CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and technical documentation with detailed specifications. Control product and BOM changes using PLM and ERP systems.
• Engineering Analysis: Perform engineering analysis on complex problems and propose corrective actions utilizing simulation tools, statistical analysis, and product R&D testing.
