Director- Manufacturing and Supply Chain
(Hawthorne, New York)
Our client, a rapidly growing medical device supplier, is currently hiring a new role to oversee Supply Chain. This is a very hands on position, candidate must have experience with complex assembly processes. Position reports into the CEO, Ops Manger and all the Supply Chain Leads report into this position.
The Director, Manufacturing & Supply Chain will play a critical role in formalizing the company's production processes and procedures while overseeing and optimizing all manufacturing operations and supply chain activities. This position is essential for driving continuous improvement initiatives, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient production of high-quality products. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and supply chain management. We are looking for a team player who views medical device development as a competitive advantage.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement manufacturing and supply chain strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and communication throughout the manufacturing processes.
Set schedules and timelines in collaboration with senior management that adhere to company sales objectives.
Oversee all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, and quality control.
Identify areas for process improvement and implement strategies to enhance profitability, reduce costs, and increase operational efficiency.
Manage end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
Oversee overall supply chain and logistics operations to maximize efficiency, reduce risk, and minimize costs.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure optimal sourcing and procurement strategies.
Implement and enforce quality control measures on all parts and final assembly of devices, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO 13485.
Report on manufacturing activities and key performance indicators (KPIs) to the senior management team, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Proactively collaborate with engineering, service, and other departments to incorporate best practices into the manufacturing environment
Ensure operations comply with health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
Manage and develop a high-performing manufacturing team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and teamwork.
Analyze performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Oversee major projects related to manufacturing processes, technology upgrades, and supply chain optimization, ensuring alignment on project goals and deliverables.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
10+ years of proven experience in a manufacturing management role.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, technologies, lean methodologies, and supply chain best practices.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and implement effective solutions.
Proficient with ERP systems, experience in NetSuite a plus.
Strong leadership and management abilities, with proven experience in developing and implementing strategies that drive operational excellence and achieve business objectives.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to skillfully manage, develop, motivate, and direct others within a fast-paced and dynamic, entrepreneurial environment.
Consulting experience a plus.

Competitive salary will be commensurate with experience and education, up to $180k- $190k**
