Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Classification: Non-Exempt
Pay Rate: $26/hour
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. The primary responsibility is to maintain, repair, and improve injection and extrusion blow mold machines and support equipment to ensure dependable operation of production machinery. Support also includes maintenance for other departments and facilities, encompassing equipment such as compressed air systems, chilled water systems, vacuum systems, pumps, loaders, blenders, grinders, conveyors, and robots. Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair hydraulic, air, water, vacuum, and resin systems.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and parts lists to locate and order machine components.
  • Use measuring instruments to compare assembly and part drawings with actual components.
  • Learn machinery operation and service controls for troubleshooting and repair.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics to identify wiring and component issues.
  • Respect and understand high voltage electrical systems enclosures and disconnects.
  • Learn to troubleshoot wiring and device failures using schematics and electrical test devices.
  • Operate machining equipment such as mills, lathes, drill presses, band saws, and surface grinders.
  • Weld mild steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, measurement instruments, cleaning agents, lubricants, and a variety of equipment to keep production machines running smoothly.
Maintenance Process:
  • Maintenance tasks are scheduled through the manager using IQMS.
  • Technicians are responsible for completing assigned work orders and entering new work orders as needed.
  • Ensure parts are tied to work orders correctly for inventory management.
  • Provide accurate part numbers, quantities, and work order numbers for purchasing.
Work Schedule:
  • Position requires dependability, flexibility in work hours, overtime, and weekend production support.
  • Maintenance staff are required during plant shutdowns for tasks not possible during production.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of manufacturing mechanical and electrical maintenance experience or a technical associate degree in mechanical technology, general mechanics, or electrical technology.
  • Preferred Experience:
  • Hydraulic, air, water, vacuum, and resin systems maintenance.
  • Reading and interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Operating various machining equipment.
  • Welding different metals.
  • Skills:
  • Use of electrical test devices (multimeters, amp clamps, temperature scanners, oscilloscopes).
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Education: High school diploma and verifiable work experience or relevant technical associate degree.
