Description

Position: Maintenance Technician
Location: University Park, IL Salary: $65K - $73K, based on experience
Shift: 1st Shift, 6am - 3:30pm

  • Oversee and complete maintenance and servicing of the facility and equipment.
  • Coordinate and schedule external contractors.
Major Tasks and Duties:
  • Complete contractor compliance and scheduled mechanical maintenance.
  • Perform daily equipment and site inspections.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions.
  • Provide operational guidance to ensure equipment operates smoothly.
  • Source external vendors and create purchase orders.
  • Schedule contractors and ensure safety procedures (lock out/tag out).
  • Support maintenance and tote repair.
  • Delegate maintenance duties.
  • Attend necessary training.
  • Comply with hygiene, safety, and quality policies.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, GMP's, and HACCP requirements.
Knowledge/Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum grade 12 education or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years maintenance experience in a food manufacturing setting.
  • Millwright license or demonstrated experience and certifications.
  • Ability to lift up to 25kg/50lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Willing to work in a dusty and noisy environment.
  • Certifications in Forklift, Reach Truck & Scissor Lift.
  • Boiler experience.
