Machine Operator - Wood Worker (2nd Shift)
Job Description: As a Machine Operator - Wood Worker at D|Fab, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to excellence in design, decor manufacturing, and installation. We are looking for two individuals to join our 2nd shift team.
Job Type: Full-Time
Days/Hours:
- 1st Shift: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 2:30 PM - 1:00 AM, and Friday, 2:30 PM - 8:30 PM (overtime as required)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of measuring tools (tape measure, ruler, meter gauges)
- Basic knowledge of hand carpentry tools
- Ability to read and follow written directions and basic shop drawings
- Measure and cut raw materials (plywood, particleboard, MDF, sheet plastic, various hardwoods)
- Ability to identify woods by species or variety
- Understanding of quality control and time management
- Comprehensive knowledge of and use of routers, table saws, and sliding table saws
- Ability to prepare cut lists
- Perform basic maintenance on hand tools and glue pots
- General understanding of signage and graphics materials, substrates, and manufacturing processes is a plus
- Glue, fit, and clamp parts and subassemblies to form complete, square units
- Install hardware and check for fit
- Spray glue, apply laminate, veneer, and sand/file products
- Use power/driver-drill, power nailers, staplers, hand routers, sanders, table saw, miter saw, and jigsaw
- Maintain a clean work area and keep the floor clear of debris
- Perform other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor
- Follow standard safety practices and D|Fab safety standards
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds of material regularly
- Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls
- Stand for long periods
- Perform repetitive movements
- Wear safety glasses at all times in the shop
