Position: Layout Designer Pay Rate: $19 - $20 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: Monday – Friday | 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Job Summary
Works with sales staff to provide creative sign concepts for clients. Create detailed drawings for sign fabrication and installation. Communicates project details to in-house staff to ensure accurate production information. Stays current on materials, costs and best practices for sign fabrication. Possess proficiency in Adobe Photo Shop, Illustrator and Flexi. A team player who can work under very tight deadlines. Reflect a positive influence on a growing company.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Creates drawings and presentations for Sales Staff, per their request, based on signs being approved for fabrication. Drawings may be conceptual or based off required specifications.
2. Schedules drawing completion based on project timeframes and quick turnaround times.
3. Remains flexible and welcomes change.
4. Schedules design projects based on project load.
5. Coordinates the documentation with what is required per project, for all in-house departments, owner approval and community approval for permits, etc.
6. Stays current on design industry trends, materials and “green” applications.
7. Has significant knowledge of the sign industry and can offer input to improve company production methods and processes.
8. Follows and implements corporate policies and procedures.
9. Trains and mentors fellow designers.
10. Continues to improve personal proficiency of available signage software.

Qualifications & Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required
• Three years of experience in graphic drawing
• Mechanical shop drawing a plus
