This job role is listed as a Characterization Analyst in the Analytical Labs within PSPH Characterization. Analysts are required, once trained, to prepare samples, and conduct sensory panel sessions. Some of the daily tasks include but are not limited to receiving samples, packaging and disposing of waste per RCRA regulations, preparing polymer samples or chemical solutions, handling chemicals in a vent hood with PPE, measuring liquids in lab glassware, documenting results, restocking supplies, labeling cups and glass bottles, cleaning/general housekeeping task, and communicate with lab group to plan testing.

The job role requires early morning availability (6:30am- 3:00pm M-F), strong attention to detail and organizational skills and good communication skills. The role involves performing routine and non-routine procedures, ensuring tasks are completed on time. The ideal candidate is a team player who can work independently and stay self-motivated. The role requires adherence to and active participation in safety-related programs, as well as occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.

The successful candidate must possess:

• The ability to learn quickly and follow detailed directions
• Experience with Outlook, Word and Excel and able to learn new software for data reporting
• At least two years of work experience in the relevant field of practice (i.e. Customer service/ customer facing job (such as food service, flight attendant, cosmetology, etc. or Science, research
• Utmost respect for safety culture and safe work ethic
• Strong observation skills to make keen observations during experiments
• The ability to work independently and multitask effectively
