Title: IT/Digital Hardware Technician
Contract role: 12+ months
Location onsite: Dow Fort Saskatchewan, AB (Onsite)
Shift Schedule: 9/80 or 4/10


Job description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IT/Digital Technician to support our growing technology infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software systems for portable, rugged, hazard rated devices. Ensuring seamless operation of our digital platforms and apps and providing technical support to our staff. Responsibilities / Duties
• Assist Tech Users: Provide on-site technical support for rugged (hazard-rated) devices.
• Innovation and Growth: Work with Dow's Business IT/OT teams to trial and integrate new technology solutions into daily operations and maintenance activities.
• Device Management: Inventory management for new and existing devices and assets. Including device initialization and app management
• Order Management: Manage approvals and track the ordering of new and replacement devices and parts
• Collaboration: Work closely with contractors and employees from operations, maintenance and turnaround teams to ensure smooth operations or devices and communication networks
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware issues promptly.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of device help tickets, status, repairs, and orders.
• Training: Train users on the proper use and maintenance of devices.
• Compliance: Ensure all devices meet safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications
• Must have obtained a high school diploma/equivalent PLUS a Journeyman Certificate, OR two year degree (or higher). Study in the fields of digital literacy/IT, electrician or instrumentation is preferred. *In lieu of a Journeyman Certificate, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the specified discipline may be considered equivalent.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (i.e. IT, computer/instrumentation hardware, electrician etc.).
• Ability to safely work in a plant environment: meet light physical demands – walking, stairs & ladder use, minimal work at elevated heights, and comfortably use PPE and safety equipment. Must be familiar with or open to training on proper equipment usage.
