Pay Rate/Schedule:
- 12-month assignment with intention to convert in 2026 for the right candidate
- $35.00 - $40.00 per hour based on experience
- Monday through Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm with some flexibility
This position requires Trade Compliance activities in facilitating the import/export processes and programs globally by collaborating with internal organizations and communicating and partnering with logistics providers.
What's a typical day as an Import and Export Coordinator?
- Coordinate the movement of products in and out of the United States in accordance with company policies and procedures, and to comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Provide clearance instructions to customs brokers for imports into the US and maintain activity log of requests.
- Export invoice creations, providing HTS classification and ECCN classification when needed.
- Analyze and release of blocked parties screened in DPS.
- Collaborate with other departments to monitor and maintain effective and relevant import/export activities and processes.
- Maintain records for both imports and exports, in accordance with customs regulations, through sFTP site and shipping records.
- Resolve import/export and customs issues as required.
- Auditing of import and export records to ensure we meet customs regulations and requirements.
- Maintaining the revision of the trade compliance parts detail which is stored in D365.
- Support in the maintenance and revision of the import data base in partnership with Tradeflow.
- Collaborate with Procurement on ensuring that the country-of-origin information is correct and up to date.
- Track and communicate with CBSA and Canadian broker when additional information or documentation is needed to ensure our shipments are cleared without delay.
Experience, Education, Training, Traits:
- Four-year undergraduate degree required.
- 5 years of more international & domestic shipping.
- Industry experience in FDA regulatory device manufacturing environment preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in lean material handling.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong MS office and web conferencing skills.
Language and Verbal Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and freight / governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, specifications, business correspondence, and procedure manuals in English. Ability to effectively present power point and other information and respond to questions from groups of staff, clients and customers.
Math Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, averages, ranges, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to use MS Excel to perform calculations, graphs and interpret project results/data is required.
Analytical and Reading Skills
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to read technical and clinical literature and documents and extract important concepts.
Physical Requirements
Duties of this job may involve standing and/or walking for extended periods of time. Duties also involve daily keyboard data entry. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Late nights on month end and quarter end shipping days are required.
Work Environment
Most work will be performed in an office and warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
