We're seeking a Grant Financial Analyst (needing grant accounting and grant administration experience) through March 2025 (possibility of the contract being extended) to work remotely for a premier college in Auburn Hills Michigan. Pay Rate: $26.50 per hour
Length: Through March 2025 (possible contract extension)
Schedule: MF 8:30am-5:00pm (Remote if close to work site occasional in person meetings in Auburn Hills Michigan)

- Reviewing grant and contract agreements as assigned by the Budget and Financial Planning/Grant Fiscal Manager (B&FP/GF Manager) to understand grant administration.
- Collaborating with the WFD Director of Grants, B&FP/GF Manager, and grant leads to establish and monitor budgets.
- Preparing general ledger entries, reviewing expenditures for accounting accuracy and program relevance.
- Monitoring grant expenditures to ensure compliance with college policies, grant guidelines, and agency regulations.
- Preparing and reconciling grant activity through financial reports and supporting documentation.
- Assisting in grant financial reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Reviewing time and effort reports and assisting with sub-award monitoring.
- Supporting grant closeouts and reporting requirements.
- Assisting with information gathering for the Single Audit and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Assist the Director of Budget & Financial Planning with the financial analysis of college-wide staffing requests and updating of staffing information in the college's budget software Questica, as needed.
- Performing other related duties as assigned and working additional hours as needed.
- Have an earned Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting from an accredited college or university, with additional seminars or courses in grant administration and accounting.
- Possess a minimum of four (4) years of grant accounting experience, with knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies related to grant administration.
- Have experience in higher education (preferred) and familiarity with Ellucian Colleague (a plus).
- Are knowledgeable in accounting principles, Uniform Guidance, and financial audit and reporting requirements.
- Can interpret and manage grant funding requirements and budgets.
- Have strong analytical skills for evaluating accounting problems and financial documents.
- Are proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and can quickly learn new software and technologies.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and can communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Can work efficiently across a broad spectrum of staff and manage multiple projects.
