ENGINEERING MATERIAL COORDINATOR - ROANOKE, VA
Targeting $50,000 to $55,000 annually
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Project Engineering Manager; the Engineering Material Coordinator defines, and tracks project materials as identified on drawings to support production schedules. In coordination with engineering and purchasing, the Engineering Material Coordinator provides material reports to support project timelines and timely completion of production schedules.
- Assist in the project by providing tracking information and reports to verify materials have been ordered and material delivery supports production timelines. Confirms receipt of materials to meet project requirements.
- Assist project engineering in keeping projects on schedule.
- Responsible for maintaining and updating a Materials Status Tracking log that provides necessary updates as needed to Project Management and Sales, as needed.
- Work with the Project Engineering Manager assisting in the development of departmental policies and procedures for successfully tracking of all material.
- Supports project manager and engineering during project review and kick-off.
- Read and interpret drawings to determine material required for workorders
- Creates workorders and enters required material to be linked to DOM on drawings.
- Responsible for overseeing and communicating to Project Manager and team members.
- Participate in weekly project meetings with Project management team and production departments.
- Works with Project Engineering Manager on departmental improvements.
- Assist with work order changes on material needed for production.
- Other duties as deemed necessary by Project Engineering Manager.
- Education – 1 year certificate or Associates degree (A.A.) from a college or technical school (preferred).
- Experience – 5 years related experience.
- Certificates, License, or Registrations – Must have a valid driver's license and driving record satisfactory to our company insurance policy.
- Overall knowledge of construction and/or electrical power distribution preferred.
- Basic knowledge of algebra and geometry and mathematical formulas.
- Must have excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office applications).
- Must have in depth knowledge of the various stages of product completion from purchase order receipt date to completion.
- Must have excellent skills with Word and Excel
