The role of a tutor.
- Work in small group sessions (1:3 and 1:1 ratio) with students during school. These sessions will be in-person.
- Understand student learning gaps based on information given to you and teach district-provided curriculum that is tailored to each student's need.
- Also assist with homework, projects, and other academic tasks.
- Foster strong and positive relationships with students through significant, consistent, and regular amounts of time.
- Evaluate and report student progress.
- Work in collaboration with classroom teachers and school administration, under the direct supervision of the Kelly® Education Tutoring Solutions Team.
Specific information about the Kelly® Education / Chester Upland School District tutoring program in Chester, PA.
- Provide in-person tutoring sessions, push-in model in collaboration with math teacher of record
- Grade and Subject: Grades 3-5 mathematics
- Schedule: Monday through Friday from 9am – 3pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Program Dates: April 1 through May 30 and June 23 through July 31
- Compensation: $28/hour for non-certified tutors, $38/hour for certified teachers, weekly pay, benefits offered
Minimum requirements.
- Bachelor's degree with experience/background in related subject matter
- Experience tutoring and/or teaching students in desired grade(s) and subject(s)
- Candidate must provide copy of teaching certification if certified
- Experience with Common Core State Standards for Mathematics
- Experience working with advanced and/or low-performing students, particularly at the elementary school level
- Familiarity with school and district infrastructure, including technology environments and management.
- PA educator clearances and fingerprinting required at talent's expense
