Job Description: Contract Electrical Engineer (3 to 5 Months) - Manufacturing Facility
Location: Narragansett, RI
Duration: 3 to 5 months contract

Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our manufacturing facility in Narragansett, RI for a short-term contract position. The primary focus of this role will be on checking and optimizing machine safety and ensuring adherence to electrical codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive safety evaluations of approximately 50 machines onsite, ensuring compliance with NFPA 70E and NEC codes.
- Perform reverse engineering and redline electrical packages to reflect changes and improve processes.
- Collaborate with project teams to install laser scanners, e-stop cables, guarding interlocks, and value-add control panels.
- Maintain and update AutoCAD Electrical drawings and documents.
- Provide expertise and field experience in the installation and maintenance of safety systems.
- Evaluate and improve overall machine safety and operational efficiency.
- Work independently and collaboratively with other engineers and project teams.
- Bachelor's (BS) or Associate's (AS) degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical software.
- In-depth knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety standards and NEC electrical codes.
- Adept at reverse engineering and making modifications to existing systems.
- Experience in creating and updating redline packages.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong field experience in electrical installations and machine safety evaluations.
- Programming or PLC experience.
- HMI background.
