The EHS Site Specialist will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for the XXX site. This position will implement, maintain, and improve all aspects of the company's EHS program including compliance, health and safety program development, compliance with applicable federal, state / local requirements This role requires sufficient experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals and safe solutions for our business and customers we serve.
Specific activities may include, but are not limited to:
- Use influencing skills to ensure a strong EHS culture is valued by commercial, engineering, manufacturing, and site leadership.
- Identify, develop, and drive processes simplification and improvement for the site.
- Conduct site visits and provide support to the site teams.
- Implement, maintain and audit EHS programs and procedures to ensure company compliance.
- Support site related EHS inquiries and discussions as they are related to conduct of site activities.
- Coordinate all aspects of EHS (injury investigation/reduction, training completion, metrics verification/tracking, etc.) for a site.
- Perform data analysis, trending and reporting of key business level EHS metrics reports.
- Lead / Assist in special projects as assigned including risk reduction initiatives, Gensuite management, and internal program audits.
- Collaborate and coach business team members to create a culture where inclusion and diversity are valued.
The EHS Site Specialist must:
- Have a strong health and safety background
- Skilled at coaching and communicating EHS requirements to all levels of the organization.
- Ability to partner and influence across functional teams.
- Ability to handle multiple shifting demands with professionalism and good judgement while adapting to dynamic business & industry situations.
- Be a considerate listener and clearly communicate ideas and solutions in a professional manner.
- Possess experience with root cause analysis methods (Apollo, FMEA, Bow-tie, Fishbone, Tap Root, etc.)
- Demonstrated EHS risk recognition and auditing skills
Core Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in EHS, engineering, science or technical field
- Must have minimum of 3 years of demonstrated EHS leadership experience with a health and safety focus.
- Transformational leadership to coach and guide leaders to have meaningful safety conversations
- Communicating EHS expectations effectively through leveraging of technical and business proficiency with client stakeholders, sub-contractors and internal project team members
- Removing obstacles or guiding the projects, engineering and services team to remove obstacles to ensure work proceeds with a high level of safety standards and awareness.
- Building a trusting EHS culture where concerns can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on results and problem solving
