Kelly Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Commissioning and Start-Up Lead in the Seadrift, Texas area!

OVERVIEW:
Provides coordination, technical support, and troubleshooting for the Commissioning and Start-Up of a new facility at the Seadrift, Tx location. Role will oversee and optimize Mechanical commissioning and start-up across a range of equipment including pump, motors, gearboxes, and agitators. Role will provide input during the Construction phase to ensure the equipment will meet the needs of the Maintenance and Operations Team. Role will direct Millwright/Machinists to ensure equipment has been commissioned and prepared for Operations personnel following the project schedule. Role will serve as first line technical support to Millwrights during commissioning and start-up. Role will serve as Technical SME if field machining is required. Role will work in conjunction with Operations to start-up the equipment and place equipment in service, performing function testing and validations of equipment to ensure equipment delivers as designed.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for delivering a Safe, Reliable, and Operable facility thru an incident free construction, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning & Start-up of the Santorini EO Only Project.
  • Works closely with the Unit C&SU Leader provide support and lead Operation resources for Pre-Commissioning, witnessing, and inspection, understand and comply with SDO Site E&HS and plant practices.
  • Responsible to review and develop the procedures of Pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Supports C&SU Leader and operation team in identifying and resolving operation technical issues and work with the operators to execute the safe operation. 
  • Encourage open communication between all parties in the construction, C&SU and SDO Operation
  • Help team to ensure that site Pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up are monitored and controlled to achieve safe and reliable operation.
  • Support the system walkthrough as per P&ID, Isometric and prepare punch items list record changes to and on master P&ID and process to get Master Set updated and distributed.
  • Prepare isolation strategy for Equipment list, Instrument List, Line List, Electro Motor List and compliance on DOW LCS.
  • Review C&SU schedule with milestones and relations and provide comments
  • Actively assist field commissioning activities.  Includes executing procedures, performing inspections, moving hoses, and climbing ladders/structures. 

Qualifications
  • 10 years relevant maintenance, engineering, manufacturing, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience with Predictive Maintenance including Vibration and Oil Analysis
  • Experience with Construction, Commissioning, and Start-up of new Industrial Assets
  • Experience leading team to ensure safety, reliability, and scheduling goals are met.
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP management system software.
