CNC Machinist

$22 - $28/hour

Kelly Services, in partnership with a top client, is seeking multiple CNC Machinists to permanently join our client's team. This role supports the department's mission to fulfill its goals and objectives. This involves the safe and efficient use of CNC Machinery, ensuring to help meet customer expectations for quality and punctual delivery.

Details:

  • Hiring multiple CNC Machinists for our key client in Grand Rapids
  • Hiring for 3rd shift: 7:30 PM - 6:00 AM, Monday to Thursday
  • Initial training will be conducted on 1st shift for a minimum of 90 days (Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

Responsibilities:
  • Operate CNC Mills and/or Lathes to produce the designated number of accurate parts promptly according to process documentation. This may include operating multiple machines concurrently.
  • Efficiently set up jobs on assigned equipment.
  • Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspection using tools such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, various gauges, and CMM equipment as per process documentation.
  • Conduct data collection and communicate tasks in Job Boss and other applications.
  • Perform operator-level maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment or tooling issues.
  • Execute de-burring or reworking of in-process work.
  • Provide recommendations to optimize and enhance assigned processes.
  • Keep the workstation adhering to 5S standards.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in CNC Mill operations or equivalent relevant equipment.
  • Solid comprehension of machining center principles, including the X, Y, and Z axes, as well as edge and centerline pickup.
  • Proficiency in using common measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, gauges (pin, thread, indicator, height), optical comparators, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills focused on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Skillful in reading blueprints according to GD&T standards.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of Windows and MS Office applications.
  • Aptitude for performing basic mathematical functions.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull up to 75 pounds periodically.
