Chemistry Operations Supervisor - Vitamins

Kelly Science and Clinical is looking for a Chemistry Operations Supervisor to join a growing team in Burbank, CA. This position is with a leading organization that provides laboratory testing, audit, and certification services, specializing in vitamins. In this key role, you will manage day-to-day activities and provide leadership to the Analytical Chemistry Vitamins Department.

  • Salary Range: $83,000.00 To $100,000.00 Annually

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage department staff, equipment, quality, and safety programs.
  • Develop proactive work plans and schedules, looking ahead 5-7 days on testing due dates.
  • Ensure all necessary resources are planned.
  • Guarantee on-time delivery and promised turnaround times for all testing.
  • Manage Quality Control programs (SQC/LCS/standards/spike) and QC data.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs for all equipment.
  • Assist with method validations and matrix extensions.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 17025 Quality System and Safety Programs.
  • Provide proactive communication within the organization regarding testing status and any impact on business and customers.
  • Interact with clients, vendors, and suppliers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS/BA degree in Chemistry; MS in Chemistry preferred.
  • Five (5) years analytical experience in a Chemistry laboratory, specifically with GC testing with common sample preparation techniques and testing typical with supplements, CBD, and OTC.
  • 2-3 years of proven leadership qualities supervising 5+ employees are preferred.
  • Must have expertise in instrumentation - HPLC (FLD, RI, ELSD, DAD, etc.), LC/MS/MS (QQQ), UPLC (FLD, RI, ELSD, DAD, etc.).
  • Ability to utilize instrument software, troubleshoot issues and work with vendors of the equipment on optimal performance is required.
