DETAILS
- Job Type: direct-hire/permanent, full time hours
- Schedule: Mon-Friday 8am-5pm, occasional weekend work may be required
- Pay Rate: $24-26/hour
- Location: Coon Rapids, MN
SUMMARY
The Laboratory Assistant will provide support by performing essential tasks, including cleaning and maintaining the laboratory, documenting work per GLP/GMP standards, and assisting with various lab activities.
Ideal candidates will have experience in industrial cleaning or laboratory settings and the ability to work independently. We seek a versatile team member who can contribute to cross-functional projects focused on continuous improvement.
DUTIES
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and accurately document work according to GMP guidelines.
- Clean laboratory and cleanroom areas, as well as equipment.
- Prepare and distribute cleaning solutions regularly.
- Wash glass and plastic labware.
- Review supply requests, place orders, and update inventory as needed.
- Monitor daily water usage.
- Record and check temperatures of controlled equipment, and replace gas and liquid nitrogen tanks as necessary.
- Ensure proper disposal of all waste types (recyclable, general, and biohazardous).
- Perform additional tasks or special projects as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- HS diploma required, AS or BS in science-related field is preferred.
- Experience in a laboratory or industrial cleaning environment is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills, organizational abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Basic word processing and computer skills are required.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Some weekend work may be needed.
