The Kelly® Professional & Industrial team is hiring Boat Lamination Technicians for a thriving company in Hartsville, SC. If you're detail-oriented, physically fit, and have experience with fiberglass work, we want to hear from you!
Position Details:- Position: Boat Lamination Technician
- Pay Rate: $17/hr
- Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Enjoy a three-day weekend: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!)
- Location: Hartsville, SC
- Job Type: Temp-to-Hire
As a Boat Laminator Technician, you will:
- Apply layers of fiberglass to molds to form boat decks and hulls.
- Select and position precut fiberglass mat, cloth, and wood bracing materials based on boat model specifications.
- Smooth out wrinkles in fiberglass mat and cloth by hand.
- Mix catalyst/resin into fiberglass cloth and mat using hand tools.
- Use a squeegee and hand techniques to remove air bubbles and ensure smooth surfaces.
- Bond wood reinforcing strips to deck and cabin structures using resin-saturated fiberglass.
- Apply spray glue to parts and distribute fiberglass evenly.
- Wrap the part or mold in plastic, vacuum out air, and inject resin through designated holes to ensure full saturation.
- Remove plastic once the resin hardens, preparing the part or mold for the next phase.
- May specialize in molding specific boat parts or be designated as a deck molder.
- May install stringers and flooring in the hull.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in boat building, fiberglass work, or a related field is required.
- Knowledge of fiberglass materials, lamination techniques, and blueprint reading.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.
- Strong attention to detail and precision in the lamination process.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
- Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment.
