Medical Claims Specialist (Bilingual-Spanish)
Location: Glastonbury, CT
Pay Rate: $23/Hour

- Processing or adjusting medical insurance claims in accordance with policies and procedures
- Answering phones and responding to client and medical provider inquiries related to payments
- Making outgoing calls to medical providers and insurance companies
- Reading and interpreting explanation of benefits and healthcare terminology
- Identifying, researching, and resolving claim issues and requests for additional documentation
- Promoting teamwork and ensuring contractual performance guarantees are met
- Processing medical payments for clients and assisting in the client appeals process
- Creating and updating financial batch records for processing by accounting
- Auditing payment files and managing workflow for the team
- Have an associate's degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or two to four years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possess knowledge of medical insurance practices, including enrollment, payment terms, and benefits coordination
- Have the ability to read and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers
- Are proficient in basic math functions and can interpret bar graphs
- Can apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
- Are skilled in using word processing, spreadsheet, internet software, timekeeping systems, and have a preference for medical coding software
- Hold a certification in medical coding/billing or insurance claims processing
