What's a typical day like as a Bilingual Interpreter?
- Handle high volume inbound phone calls, ranging from short to very long calls – depending on each individual call
- Help interpret Spanish/English conversations for a wide range of industries including but not limited to Healthcare, Government, Financial, Travel & Hospitality, Legal, and IT
- Translate Spanish/English conversations that may be both simple, complex, or technical
- You will listen to 5-10 sentences at a time, while taking precise but short notes and interpret the message without changing its meaning (note-taking skills/multitasking/short-term memory)
- You may be required to switch to video interpretation
This job might be an outstanding fit if you:
- Are located in Puerto Rico or planning on moving to PR
- Are fluent in both Spanish and English (Expert Level)
- Are able to attend a 3-week paid virtual training (MON-FRI, 9am-4.30pm AT)
- Are able to pass pre-employment screenings (drug screening, background check)
- Can provide a quiet, closed-off work environment, as these conversations entail sensitive/confidential information
Shift Hours
We will contact you at the end of training to discuss your shift hours. You will have to be flexible to work the hours we have available at that moment in time. We cannot guarantee specific hours beforehand. Weekend work may be required (SAT or SUN).
Other Requirements for this job:
- The use of a smartphone, tablet or laptop/desktop PC to receive calls
- High-speed Internet connection
- Whiteboard to dispose of handwritten notes taken during calls
- Noise-canceling headset with boom directional microphone (must be wired)
