Kelly Science is seeking an Associate Manager of Food Safety and Validation for a growing company located in Eau Claire, WI.
Salary: $90,000-95,000/year
Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
Employment Type: Full Time; Direct Hire
Job responsibilities:
- Develop and manage infant formula-specific food safety programs (HACCP, GMPs, allergen control) to meet FSSC 22000 certification.
- Ensure compliance with global food safety standards (FDA's Infant Formula Act, Codex Alimentarius, FSMA, FSSC 22000).
- Conduct food safety risk assessments and implement preventive controls.
- Oversee equipment, cleaning, and software validation processes according to FSSC 22000 standards.
- Maintain and update validation master plans, protocols, and reports.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with FSSC 22000 and FDA's Good Manufacturing Practices for Infant Formula.
- Lead regulatory audits, providing validation documentation and responses.
- Develop and deliver FSSC 22000-focused training programs for production teams.
- Drive continuous improvement by collaborating with cross-functional teams and adopting best practices.
- Analyze validation data to ensure ongoing compliance and prepare reports for leadership and regulators.
- Bachelor's degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineering or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in food safety, quality assurance and/or validation preferably in the infant formula or infant nutrition industry.
- In-depth understanding of FSSC 22000 certification requirements and implementation in infant formula production.
- Expertise in validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ), cleaning validation, and software qualification processes.
- Strong knowledge of FDA, FSMA, Codex, and FSSC 22000 compliance standards.
- Certification in food safety programs (e.g., HACCP, SQF) or FSSC 22000 training is highly desirable
