Job Title: Accounting Operations Specialist
Location: Pembroke, MA (Onsite to start, hybrid options available after onboarding)
Pay Rate: Starting at $25/hour, higher based on experience
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Operations Specialist to join our team in Pembroke, MA. This role requires a versatile individual with a strong background in all aspects of bookkeeping, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), reconciliations, general ledger management, and journal entries. The ideal candidate will also possess an analytical mindset to make observations and recommendations that improve financial operations and efficiencies, going beyond routine data entry tasks.
A background in the logistics industry is highly preferred, as familiarity with its unique financial and operational nuances will allow the candidate to hit the ground running.
Key Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping & Financial Operations:
- Perform day-to-day accounting tasks, including AP and AR processing, bank reconciliations, and month-end close procedures.
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

Analysis & Recommendations:
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, or inefficiencies.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve accounting processes and business operations.
- Partner with management to implement financial strategies and optimize cash flow.

Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports.
- Maintain organized and complete records to support audits and compliance requirements.

Collaboration & Support:
- Work closely with the operations team to reconcile financial data with logistics activities.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Support other accounting and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
- Prior experience in the logistics or transportation industry is a significant advantage.
