Under the direction of the Product Manager, the Product Analyst I (Data/Digital) will assist with the design, implementation, and ongoing management of digital & data products and services to transform the experiences of patients, families, and staff combined. The Product Analyst I (Data/Digital) will work closely with the various enterprise stakeholders of Keck Medicine of USC to articulate business requirements, build user stories, and identify the value proposition(s). The Product Analyst I (Data/Digital) will conduct market research to understand industry problems and find innovative solutions.

Essential Duties:

  • Customer Service: Resolves customer questions and complaints, communicates with customers, handles services problems and tickets politely and efficiently, always available for customers, follows procedures, utilizes problem solving skills, maintains pleasant and professional image. Customers may include both internal department users, vendors, and peers within IS.
  • Solution Design and Development: Analyzes events, documentation, requirements and needs to design and develop solutions to solve problems and/or meet organization's needs. Responsible for designing, coding, and modifying websites, apps, and forms from layout to function and according to a client's specifications. Strives to create visually appealing sites that feature user-friendly design and clear navigation.
  • Performance Improvement/Transformation/Innovation: Demonstrates an ongoing understanding of and actively participates in performance improvement activities, identifies, and proactively pursues business transformation, uses innovation to enhance/solve current system and business workflow problems. Acts as a subject matter expert for department functions in relationship to implementing and managing responsible systems.
  • Technical Skills and Industry Knowledge: Familiar with application system/business functions with working knowledge of selected systems/functions. Limited knowledge of industry best practices, conventions, and regulations. Little to no programming and/or integration expertise.
  • Teamwork and Project Management: Manages own work efforts for projects. Manages time effectively while assuring attention to details.
  • Reports & Analytics: Ability to generate both standard and ad hoc reports. Ability to design and assist in developing non-standard/custom reports as required.
  • Training: Responsible for working with customer and/or vendors with training on new systems being implemented and rolled out for use in the departments.
  • Other Duties and On-Call: Ability to fulfil On-Call requirements and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Req Associate's degree
  • Associate's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Req 2 years Experience in product/business analysis. Experience in healthcare setting a plus.
  • Req Experience working with users to capture requirements and develop workflow diagrams that translate to application builds.
  • Req Experience analyzing and recommending appropriate technical digital & data solutions to support the overall enterprise (including market research).
  • Req Experience with Agile Project Management methodologies.
  • Req Experience managing multiple priorities and operate in a fast paced, ambiguous, and complex environment with autonomy.
  • Req Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
  • Req Excellent critical thinking problem solving skills.
  • Req Exceptional organization and time management skills.
  • Req Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with excellent presentation skills and the ability to adapt to differing audiences.
  • Req Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with coworkers, management, and vendors.
  • Req Ability to self-initiate, work independently and in teams, self-manage and learn independently with discernment of when to escalate and seek guidance.
  • Req Organized and detail-oriented.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)

The hourly rate range for this position is $39.00 - $63.95. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
