The goal of the Kamehameha Schools' Endowment is to support current spending needs while growing capacity to educate future learners. As of June 30, 2023, the Endowment was valued at $14.6 billion comprised of a globally diversified financial assets portfolio of $10.0 billion and Hawaii commercial real estate of $4.7 billion. We invest globally, partnering with exceptional investment managers who possess superior investment judgment and pursue a well-defined investment process with durable competitive advantage.

The Kamehameha Schools' Investment Management Group ("IMG") is searching for an aspiring investor with 1-3 current years of finance-related experience (2-4 years as of summer 2025 target start date) to join our team in our Honolulu office. Our generalist model and collaborative approach offer exposure to various asset classes, portfolio construction decisions, and a global investment perspective. The ideal candidate will have related work experience in the investment field such as investment banking, investment management, equity research, consulting, or sales/trading and must have a passion for investing.

The base salary for this full-time position at the commencement of employment is $125,000. Additionally, this role is eligible for inclusion in the Investment Management Group's Incentive Compensation plan. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market.

Job Summary

Provide analytical support on a diversified global portfolio of marketable and private equities, fixed income, real assets, and absolute return strategies.  Work in collaboration with the entire investment team to conduct research, perform complex and non-routine quantitative and qualitative analyses, build financial models and capture information from external managers and  markets.  Contribute to internal dialogue on investment decision-making.  Generate reports on portfolio and investment manager performance.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct and deliver timely and accurate quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Deliver periodic and ad-hoc reports to investment leadership.
  • Manage individual work across multiple asset classes and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Participate in external manager and reference meetings and calls to capture accurate and insightful notes.
  • Contribute questions and insight in external manager and internal investment team meetings.
  • Form high quality external industry relationships.
  • Assist in training of new members to the analyst team.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the requirements listed.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a financial services, consulting, or related professional setting.
  • Strong quantitative and modeling skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently, in a team and across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated interest in investing.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Frequently sits, perform desk-based computer tasks and grasp light or fine manipulation, talk or hear.
  • Occasionally stand and/or walk, write by hand, and lift and/or carry, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely twist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach or work above shoulder, or grasp forcefully.

Working Conditions (including environmental conditions)   

  • This position involves heavy traveling to various locations, including international travel to conduct business.
  • Work is conducted in an office environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
  • Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours but may be conducted in evenings and weekends, as necessary.

$113,200.00 - $179,800.00
