Kamehameha Schools is seeking a Locker Room Attendant to supervise the boys student locker room for our Middle School at our Kapālama Campus. This is a full-time regular position with full-time employee benefits. Job Summary

Assists with locker room supervision and responsible for cleaning and maintaining the student locker room and faculty locker room areas.  Regularly inventories and reorders supplies.  Maintains and cleans areas surrounding Keawe gym.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Assists with locker room supervision and responsible for daily cleaning of both the student  locker rooms and faculty office areas by sweeping, scrubbing, and mopping floors, scrubbing  and disinfecting toilets, shower and sinks as well as washing windows, blinds and fixtures  Wipes down mirrors and other locker room equipment.  Cleans and maintains Keawe Gymnasium and two classrooms.  Strip and wax classrooms and faculty offices each trimester.
  • Daily washes, dries and folds towels for KMS and KES.  Cleans and maintains washers, dryers, lint traps and PE equipment on a daily basis.
  • After each class, walks through both locker rooms to pick-up locks, PE clothes and other personal belongings to be returned to students by PE teachers.  Set up and break down bleachers in support of KMS activities and classes.
  • Replenish toilet paper, paper towels on a regular basis.  Regularly inventories and reorders work supplies and equipment via supervisor.
  • Maintains Keawe Gymnasium, areas surrounding the gymnasium and locker room facilities to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.  Sweeps outside walkways and empties trash receptacles.  Removes graffiti, gum or other damaging items.  Initiates work requests for supplemental services or repairs
Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications - An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of the requirements listed.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
  • Good working knowledge of laundering and sanitation of athletic locker rooms.
  • Experience in using a PC and software tools and programs such as MS Outlook, Word, Excel applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate and get along with adolescent students, parents, faculty and staff.  Ability to work with staff and demonstrate willingness to be helpful and collaborative.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.  Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and assignments with many interruptions and meet expected deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; resourcefulness to research information. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a school setting.
  • Sensitivity to middle age school students and Hawaiian culture
  • Familiarity with Kamehameha Schools' policies and procedures.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently sits, perform desk-based computer tasks and grasp light or fine manipulation, talk or hear.
  • Occasionally stand and/or walk, write by hand, and lift and/or carry, push and/or pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds.
  • Rarely twist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach or work above shoulder, or grasp forcefully.

Working Conditions

  • This position may involve traveling to various locations, including neighbor islands to conduct business.
  • Work is conducted in an office/school environment and may require work to be conducted in non-standard workplaces.
  • Work is typically conducted Monday through Friday at normal business hours but evening and weekend hours are often required to meet goals and objectives.
